Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for an Associate Director, Character Art t o join the development of a new IP.
You will specialize in Character Design and/or Environments, serving as the team’s motivator and help define the look and quality of the style.
As a leader on the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.
You’ll help us by…
- Develop concept paintings and benchmark assets that set the bar and encourage the team
- Creatively tackle visual problems in collaboration with the broader game team including Directors, Art Leads, and Artists
- Take creative ownership over projects from concept to completion
- Present ideas and designs to Directors and partners and incorporate feedback when needed
- Collaboration with other Leads to ensure consistency of quality and vision for the art
- Partner with the production team to ensure schedules and plans meet project and business needs
- Partner with Art Manager to ensure team is healthy and growing artistically
- Champion diversity, inclusion, and equity in character art
You’re awesome because you have…
- 7+ years experience as a professional Artist (or some combination of applicable training and experience)
- Takes initiative to solve problems with excellent follow through
- Thrives in and actively contributes to a collaborative work culture
- Works closely with game design to ensure art improves the player experience
- Ability to explore a wide variety of ideas that push the unique style
- Passionate about stylized fantasy character art and animation
Bonus points for…
- Experience with creating and/or leading a n art or content focused team in AAA games
- Major recognition in your field of work
- Experience with technical art (implementation in tools, visual scriptin g, etc )
- Experience in adjacent disciplines such as quest design, narrative , programm ing , etc
