At Omeda Studios, we are a remote-first game development company passionately working on our debut title, Predecessor – our Action MOBA for PC and Consoles that is currently in Early Access. We are looking for skilled professionals eager to contribute their talents in creating and delivering engaging content for a game designed to entertain players for years. And this is where you come in! We’re looking for another talented Character Concept Artist join our development team in designing creative characters and skins that captivate and resonate with players. In this role you will be required to collaborate between different disciplines to make sure your ideas can be realised within our pipeline
as well as adapting your design to creative and aesthetic feedback. The ideal candidate has a portfolio that shows interest and skills in characters from both sci-fi and fantasy universes with a good understanding of forms and proportions.

In This Role You Will

  • Explore, iterate and finalise unique character and skin concepts matching the look of Predecessor
  • Develop character sheets with material callouts, detail drawings and VFX ability concepts
  • Render characters to a high standard of finish in a short and efficient timeframe
  • Support Character Art in realising your concepts during block out and high poly stages
  • Find a balance between artistic excellence and production limitations
  • Collaborate with artists and designers to solve problems

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years working in game development
  • A portfolio demonstrating relevant skills and style (or be willing to complete an art test)
  • Showing a wide range of characters from hard surface sci-fi designs to fantasy setting
  • Good understanding of colour theory, anatomy, shapes, forms, design language, silhouette and proportions.
  • Understanding of how to translate your idea to a real-time game environment

Nice to Have

  • Worked with cosmetics for live ops game
  • Skills in 3D software such as Zbrush, Maya or Blender
  • Shipped AAA titles
