Scopely is looking for a talented and experienced Executive Producer to join our team based in the Shanghai office.

What You Will Do

As the Executive Producer, you will own the execution of the product through the full development cycle, from concept, pre-production, production, close beta testing to global launch onto live operations. Once the game is live, the Executive Producer is responsible for the timely execution and the quality of the live ops and feature/contents roadmap. This is a leadership role with the responsibilities to create amazing mobile first F2P games that deliver on business goals.

The Executive Producer is a leadership role that will continue to have hands-on experience as well as manage high performing teams. The EP reports to (and leads the execution in collaboration with) the game team’s General Manager, and works with all business stakeholders of the game in managing the product through the various development cycles.

  • Drive execution of the game development team to build an amazing F2P mobile first cross platform game that will delight and engage players
  • Partner closely with the game development team’s General Manager to deliver on short and long term development objectives and translate these into clear operation and action plans
  • Day-to-day work collaboration with the US marketing and publishing teams
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the project’s status and provide a detailed overview of each aspect, including tracking progress, objectives, obstacles, and risk management. Additionally, develop mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery of successful outcomes for the product.
  • Manage the project schedule. Manage the teams day-to-day activities while maintaining close communication with developers to ensure they meet deadlines, objectives and quality standards; be willing to roll up sleeves when necessary to get the job done
  • Tracking the development budget and P&L
  • Drive the leadership team to execute a thorough roadmap in collaboration with Production – ensuring all team members have a clear understanding of their tasks based on this roadmap. Each team member should also be aware of their next steps in case they complete their tasks ahead of schedule or encounter obstacles, as outlined in the roadmap.
  • Support in building the team with recruiting and mentoring from projects concept to release and beyond phase
  • Identify major gaps in current workflows and foundational challenges in how the team operates as a whole, identifying & getting ahead of challenges, and directing leads in addressing complex issues / working to resolve them
  • Provide updates on major challenges and issues facing the game team, along with how the team is tackling them
  • Identify opportunities for executive support

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-10 years of experience leading and managing multi cross-functional teams like arts, engineering, etc to drive results
  • Past track record of releasing successful games for mobile, PC, and console platforms that achieved or exceeded the goals
  • Comprehensive management experience with Mid-core / hard-core ARPG and Open World game preferred
  • Have a good understanding of the mindset differences between Eastern and Western game developers and players’ preferences
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Chinese
  • Possess strong organizational and analytical skills with great attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of project management and software development methodologies
  • Amazing team leadership experience
  • Ability to motivate your teammates and influence without authority
  • Understanding of game KPIs, including but not limited to Retention, MAU, DAU, ARPPU and conversion rates
  • Experience with internal and external development teams; distributed development experience is critical
