We’re currently looking for a Lead Environment Artist to join our new studio in Boston and help us develop Project Orion – the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077 and the next major video game in the Cyberpunk franchise. As a Lead Environment Artist you will be in charge of building and leading a team in order to create truly breathtaking worlds for our upcoming game. Sounds interesting?

Daily Responsibilities

  • Leading a team, pushing for quality and consistency and meeting project artistic needs.
  • Cooperating with the Art Directors to maintain artistic consistency and vision for the game while building incredible worlds.
  • Partnering with the production team to build plans and help team members to deliver work on schedule.
  • Motivating, mentoring and feedbacking the team members.
  • Cultivating the team culture in line with the company’s values and goals.
  • Participating in the creation of concepts and plans for locations/environments.
  • Creating high quality 3D models fitting Project Orion aesthetic.
  • Creating high quality, photorealistic textures using various tools and middleware.
  • Cooperating with the tech art team, setting up pipelines, working on new tools needed to fulfill projects needs.
  • Creating immersive lighting & environmental effects.
  • Cooperating effectively with Level Designers, Concept Artists, Environment Artists and every team involved in creating locations.
  • Putting finishing touches on locations and cutscenes with existing meshes and decals.
  • Being a knowledge base for other artists.
  • Making Employment Decisions.
  • Min. 8 years of experience in the video games industry and at least 1 shipped AAA title.
  • Experience in leading a team.
  • Excellent skills in one of the leading modeling packages (3DS Max, Maya, Blender etc.) and Photoshop.
  • Great sense of scale, proportions and composition.
  • Good knowledge about color theory and basic lighting techniques.
  • Knowledge of physically based rendering (PBR).
  • Experience with procedural content creation packages is a plus (Substance, Houdini, World Machine).
  • Creativity and an excellent eye for detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for games.

This job requires working in Boston, US.
Working mode: in-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity.
