- Works with Art Direction on overall UI art styles and creative direction.
- Create and implement UI/UX look & feel.
- Create visual concepts, develop and present pitches for game UI features, interfaces, and iconography.
- Creating UX flows, documentation, and expectations for foundational widget library elements, screens, and systems. This includes begin forward thinking and outlining needs/hooks for things like animations that will need to be added now to save time when actual art and animation phases happen.
- Creating UX flows, documentation, and expectations for full features that have received new design specs.
- Partner with engineering to create widgets and systems.
- Create hi-fidelity mockups of screens or features.
- Begin investigations into how to bring the art style to life in engine. This would include but is not limited to UI animations, UI effects, robust unreal materials, and the ability to identify and request assistance from other disciplines.
- Iterate on art and design concepts based on feedback.
- Demonstrate understanding of the game’s branding, design, functionality, and technical requirements.
- Work closely with production to define deliverables and communicate expectations to the team.
- Previous leadership experience with the ability to do both high level individual contributor work and lead/organizational work
- 5+ years of previous UI/UX Art experience
- The ability to ingest design specs and create thorough UX flows, clickthroughs, and documentation that captures the expected user experience, the technical expectations for implementation, and forward thinking must-haves to ensure features and items captured within the UX are able to be easily updated and polished by others at a later part of the development cycle.
- Previous experience working with Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Adobe XD, Figma, Miro, and Confluence
- High-level graphic design and art mockup creation skills
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine, creating widgets, creating screens and layouts, and animating in UMG in every phase of the development cycle
- Advanced knowledge of Unreal materials and how they can be utilized in UI
