The Principal Presentation Artist will work with a team of designers, writers, artists, and engineers in the development and filming of believable and relatable systemic character performances. The Principal Presentation artist is an individual contributor role that creates previsualizations and in engine cinematic presentations that enhance the visual narrative and gameplay while simultaneously deepening character relationships and world story. Reporting to the Senior Presentation Director, you will help set the quality bar standards and best practices for our in-game cinematic moments.
You are an astute student of cinematography. You love utilizing camera lenses to enhance an audience’s emotional reaction to a character performance or narrative moment. You are passionate about effectively delivering the nuance of a character’s performance in a gameplay environment. The Principal Presentation Artist loves solving the unique puzzle of creating systemic human gestures and camera systems that enhance gameplay and narrative while simultaneously increasing efficiency and scalability.
Responsibilities
• Create animatic previsualizations using consistent camera language to align multidiscipline stakeholders on the narrative context and creative goals of each presentation.
• Work with the Senior Presentation Director to push on and insure consistency in the aesthetic development of all presentations.
• Drive the quality, functionality, and consistency of our procedural camera systems to meet the benchmark and camera language requirements.
• Create and establish best practices for in-engine character animation, facial animation, and/or camera behaviors in support of overall narrative and VO performances at high quality.
• Work in tandem with Senior Presentation Director and technical stakeholders in the development of presentation tools and pipelines ensuring efficient and high-quality output.
• Work with the Senior Presentation Director and Technical Art and Engineering teams in the identification and maintenance of engine technology requirements and performance metrics needed to meet presentation product goals.
Qualifications
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the games industry. 4+ years as a Principal Cinematic Artist, Principal Presentation artist or equivalent.
• Strong background in cinematography and character performance.
• Knowledge and experience with implementing content in game engines.
