Your Daily Life at Bethesda Game Studios
As a Senior Technical Artist, you will…
- Create 3D rigs and skinning of different types of objects and characters
- Provide guidance for the art teams to create performant and PBR compliant game art
- Create tools to support artist’s work and asset integration in the game engine
- Define budgets and create technical art guidelines
- Troubleshoot and address performance issues in the game
- Write documentation and collaborate with other teams
What Makes You S.P.E.C.I.A.L.
- You have 5+ years’ experience in the video game industry in a similar role
- You have experience skinning and rigging
- You have in-depth knowledge of PBR workflows
- You are highly proficient with modern art content pipelines including Maya and 3dsMax, ZBrush and Substance Painter (Designer is plus)
- You possess good knowledge of Python/MAXScript and experience developing tools for Maya/3dsMax
- You are experienced in developing games targeting low-end devices (mobile, VR, Switch, MMO…)
- You have experience with Unity
- You have experience creating 3D assets (modeling, UVs, texturing)
- You are comfortable with different art styles
Bonus Skills
- You have experience with shader coding and/or node-based shading editors.
- You are comfortable with procedural content creation (Houdini)
- You can model characters.
- You have experience with VFX creation.
Senior Technical Artist – The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $75,000 – $165,000 per year.
ZeniMax has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
