Why you matter
We are looking for an Unreal Systems and Graphics Engineer to join us on this journey who will bring a wealth of experience in all aspects of system creation and has an eye for graphics systems and shaders to join our fast-growing, dynamic games studio working on cutting-edge technology and exciting new games for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
In this dynamic role, you’ll be designing, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge graphics systems using Unreal Engine, ensuring stunning performance across PC, consoles, and mobile platforms. You’ll craft custom shaders and breathtaking visual effects, transforming artistic visions into technical masterpieces in collaboration with talented artists and designers. By contributing to the core architecture and frameworks of our graphics pipeline, you’ll ensure a seamless and visually captivating experience. You’ll tackle and resolve graphics-related challenges in the codebase, while staying ahead of the curve with the latest advancements in graphics technology. Additionally, you’ll mentor junior engineers, setting gold standards for code quality and performance.
As our Senior Unreal Systems and Graphics Engineer, you will be pivotal in crafting the visuals and core systems of our advanced interactive experiences. This role demands extensive expertise in Unreal Engine. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to advance the possibilities of real-time rendering and user interaction.
What you bring to the table
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Graphics Technology, Game Development, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on graphics in Unreal Engine.
- Profound knowledge of C++ (5 years) and experience with Unreal Engine’s rendering pipeline.
- Expertise in shader programming and experience with HLSL/GLSL or other shading languages.
- Strong understanding of 3D mathematics, rendering algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience with performance profiling and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with the latest gaming technologies and platforms.
- Have experience with at least one of: OpenGL, Dx11, Dx12, Vulkan, Shader-toy
- Debug profile and analyse profiling data and perform GPU optimisation
- Writing vertex, pixel, and compute shaders using HLSL or equivalent
- DirectX 12 experience (bindless textures)
- Experience with HDR, PBR, and both forward+ and deferred rendering.
- Multi-threading debugging and optimisation
- Experience in real-time game content pipeline and tools
- Rendering & shader algorithms, linear algebra, trigonometry & calculus
As an Advantage:
- Porting experience.
- Raytracing implementation experience.
- Multiplayer games experience
- Experience with VR/AR development.
- Experience developing for a wide range of PC hardware and console platforms
