Job Description
What you’ll do as a Realization Designer:
- Create 3D Previsualization and 3D storyboards sequences drawn from narrative scripts to facilitate their production in the game engine (Unique process for both runtime, prerender, and procedural);
- Communicate and work closely with the Narrative Director, Realization Director, Cinematic Director, and Level Designers to create narrative game sequences, achieving a balance of story and gameplay;
- Narrative sequences include traditional cinematics, procedural cinematics, and scripted events;

- Assist with elements of the realization and narrative of the game;
- Develop visual scripting cinematic workflows with Cinematic Designers and Level Designers for a smooth transition between gameplay and cinematics;
- Help apply the elements and staging that make up the tone, mood, and pace of the experience with the various production teams (narrative, world design, level design, gameplay, etc.);

- Develop an efficient pipeline for capturing concepts & ideas and quickly translating them into the game’s engine;
- Support Game and/or Level Designers to visually prototype more complex abstract game-wide design elements;
- Follow and maintain pipelines and technical requirements;
- Balance quality with efficiency when working under tight deadlines;
- Validate the sequences to ensure that the integrations did not cause any conflicts with the rest of the game;
- Share knowledge and collaborate with technical Leads in order to improve the quality of the tools;
- Assist with department documentation of workflow(s).

- Strong grasp of image and scene composition;
- Solid understanding of Game Design Realization;
- Knowledge and passion for film and video game culture;
- Understand camera constraints in a gameplay environment;
- Understanding of performance and staging;
- Basic understanding of narrative causality and logic;
- Good knowledge of engine constraints and basic programming / visual script;
- Ability to work in a team, good organizational skills, adaptability and open-mindedness;
- Critical sense of attention to detail;
- User-Focused mentality;
- Be able to take direction and willing to address constructive feedback;
- Possesses good communication and problem-solving skills;
- Creativity, ability to challenge the tools and the engine, ability to analyze games;
- 5+ years of experience creating a game level or similar experience in video game development;
- Experience with previs creation, 3D animation, virtual camera, and video file production;
- Experience working with game engine;
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in video games / realization, with specific interest and/or skill in composition, staging, level design, cinematic design, editing and camera languages.
