3D Scan Technical Artist Job Description

For ambitious new projects under development within our company, as part of the Characters team in the Artistic Department and in the context of introducing a 3D capture unit, we are looking for 3D Scan Technical Artist passionate about new scan technologies to take charge of the operation and maintenance of a photogrammetric body and face capture setup.

Candidates may have varied experience as a Technical Artist, developer or even researcher.

You will collaborate directly with the graphics and IT development teams on highly ambitious projects, supplying scans for the creation of graphic data (characters, props etc.) and animations (facial expressions etc.)

Skills & Requirements

3D Scan Technical Artist Required skills

  • Curiosity about 3D scan technologies (photogrammetry / photometry etc.)
  • Willing to improve and drive the development of the system to meet ever-higher quality requirements.
  • Development of cutting-edge tools to process and use scanned data
  • Knowledge of the graphic asset creation pipeline for video games or films
  • Knowledge of at least one 3D editing software package (Maya, Blender, Max, etc.).

The following would be an advantage:

  • Good knowledge of Maya.
  • Knowledge of photography (camera operation and maintenance).
  • Knowledge of electronics and IT (system maintenance and debugging).
  • Knowledge of Python.
