You’ll dive into the creation process, bringing to life key environment art assets, all while guiding and inspiring a new wave of artistic talent. In this role, you’ll lead a small team of environment artists, working closely with experienced professionals. Your key responsibility will be to align their efforts with our shared vision, ensuring their growth and empowerment remain at the forefront of your mission.
We are a Hybrid Studio. We believe that the office and home have their place in today’s work environment. Employees must be able to access the office located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. There will be a minimal amount of travel in this role. (Less than 10%)
- You have a proven track record of contributing to shipped games as an environment artist.

- Craft high-quality environment assets, guiding them from initial block-out stages to refined, in-game representations.
- Collaborate closely with the Art Director to ensure alignment between the team’s objectives and the game’s visual principles.
- Work closely with Designers, Concept Artists, and Tech Artists to translate concepts into immersive, engaging environments that leave a lasting impression on players.
- Collaborate in establishing streamlined workflows and optimal practices for environment art creation, fostering efficiency and quality.
- Offer insights and suggestions for refining workflows and implementing best practices within the environment art discipline, contributing to ongoing improvement.
- Work with the tech art and engineering teams to help define technical pipelines and best practices.
- Help prototype the early version of the game and set up a foundational pipeline for the entire team.
- Take an active role in building our art department, mentoring our new hires, and setting guidelines for working within the game’s engine.
- Manage and mentor a small group of artists.
- Contribute to defining the art team’s processes and championing the studio’s core values.
- 5+ years of experience as an Environment Artist.
- Mastery of Unreal 4/5 as it relates to Environment Art.
- Self-driven with excellent time management and communication skills.
- Experience shipping at least one multi-platform AA or AAA game.
- Present a portfolio showcasing mastery of visual design principles, proficiency in character modeling techniques, and the creation of modular and sculpted organic assets.
- Demonstrate expertise in industry-standard software packages including Blender, Substance Suite, Photoshop, and ZBrush.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey ideas and collaborate with team members effectively.
- Experience with technical art pipelines is a bonus.
- Experience working in a start-up or early-stage studio environment is a plus.
- A desire to mentor, train, and work as a leader; having already had experience mentoring or training entry-level developers and/or students would be a bonus, but a willingness to learn is required.
- Must already live in the vicinity of Dallas, TX, or be willing to relocate.

Compensation:
- This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt (salaried) position.
- When an offer is made, many factors are considered, such as your unique experience and skills, where you live, where the work will be performed, what similar jobs pay, internal equity, and what you’re looking for.
- In addition to base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for additional incentives, such as a sign-on bonus and short- and long-term incentives. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
