You will be reporting to the Development Director, overseen by the Audio Director.

This is a 6-month temporary role.

Location (remote): Open to most locations within Canada

As a temporary Technical Audio Artist with Maxis, you will be a Cycling ‘74 Max tools engineer, joining the Audio team to help redesign, rebuild, and reimagine our legacy editing and recording tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Create voice editing and recording applications for professional studio environment
  • Communication with the team regarding design choices
  • Interpret common workflows into tool design
  • Collaborate with team members to design new workflows
  • Design UI and visuals for workflow
  • Troubleshoot and resolve current technical issues
  • Collect data to build requirement documentation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sound Design, Music Technology, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge and use in Cycling ‘74 Max 8
  • Experience with audio software app development
  • 5+ years of audio software use in a professional or academic setting
  • Familiarity with industry standard audio plugins
  • History of translating technical requirements and partner communication
  • History of working in a collaborative team environment
  • C Programming skills geared towards custom Max objects
  • Familiarity with Mac and PC environments

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):

º $73,200 – $101,700 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
