Elsewhere Entertainm is looking for a Director, Gameplay Animation to join the development of a new IP.
We’re looking for someone to form a team of Riggers and Tool Developers with the mission to build and maintain the next generation of core tools and rigs.
Your focus will be to unlock the creativity of our animators, artists, and mocap staff. You will have the opportunity to do powerful, industry leading work that pushes the boundaries of gaming!
As a leader on the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.
You’ll help us by…
- Build and develop efficient character/weapon/vehicle/prop rigging and pipeline tools for the development teams
- Work closely with each of the development studios including Animation Directors, Lead Technical Animators, and animation teams to ensure partners are aligned in working to shared needs
- Work with the motion capture teams to develop more efficient and effective tools and procedures for collection and delivery of motion capture data
- Test tools thoroughly prior to full deployment and ensure that they work accurately throughout the production process
You’re awesome because you have…
- 7+ years’ experience as an Animator (or some combination of applicable training and experience)
- Experience leading a team (department lead, strike team lead, feature lead, or any comparable management experience of a small team)
- Experience developing rigs, systems, and tools for Maya
- Computer Programming/Scripting experience ( e.g. C#, C++, MEL, Python, Etc.)
- The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other subject areas and departments
- Familiarity of game engine requirements and rig parameters for game engines
Bonus points for…
- Experience with leading Animation focused team in AAA games
- Major recognition in your field of work
- Experience in adjacent disciplines such as design, environment art, programming, etc .
