What We Need:
The Vice President of Technology Operations will be reporting to the CTO and will lead the Critical Operations, Incident Management Process and Game Day Readiness functions for our online player facing and studio development environments.
This leader will be responsible for driving positive player experience by thoughtfully managing risk and minimizing impact, supporting our studio development teams, publishing technology platforms and corporate stakeholders. We need a senior-level, business-oriented operations leader who has a global mindset and is always looking for new ways to grow the business and build demand.
This role requires someone who is adept at flexing between serving as a highly strategic visionary leader coaching the team, and the doer who can operate at a tactical level having the mastery of the subject matter to get the job accomplished. Building relationships both within and across the team is critical, as well as balancing partnerships, challenging the status quo, and knowing when to bring people on the journey vs driving fast change.
You will lead and collaborate across global and international operations teams with a business/player approach to ensure our players and colleagues experience a high quality and highly performant level of service, achieving a high degree of uptime of our platforms, reducing the number and impact of technology incidents by driving continuous improvement of our incident management process and title launch preparation.
What You Will Do:
● Lead and scale our incident response capabilities, managing a 24×7 critical operations engineering team that responds to and drives resolution of incidents
● Drive continuous improvement of our incident response process, collaborating with internal teams as well as external studio partners to ensure we are effectively managing risk with open and transparent communication and partnership
● Establish a culture of blameless post-mortems to maximize learnings from incidents ensuring rigor in following through on correct actions across all 2K teams
● Define and publish measures and implement programs of work focused on relentless improvement of our players’ experience by managing availability, resiliency, scale, performance and disaster risk
● Manage our Game Day Readiness plans as a cross-functional initiative to ensure we are minimizing risk across our technology platforms ahead of new title launches and major content releases partnering with teams to perform performance testing and chaos testing to meet forecasted demand
● Lead globally distributed teams that provide incredible partnerships to our diverse studios and publishing colleagues to ensure we have strong engagement and alignment with our key metrics and processes and drive transparency of our process, risk assessment and progress towards improving
Who We Think Will Be a Great Fit:
● Business-oriented operations leader with demonstrated success leading operations in a 24x7x365 environment
● 9 to 12+ years of progressive external customer facing experience with experience in all major areas of incident management, risk assessment, and leading and scaling operations engineering teams
● Strategic thinking and thought leadership within the field of technology operations with a mindset of innovation and intellectual curiosity
● Significant experience in setting a vision for a team and leading, mentoring and scaling teams
● Strong metrics-driven focus with ability to use data to prove what is – or isn’t – working and drive improvements
● Ability to collaborate successfully in a highly matrixed organization, across a number of different teams and global locations
The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $265,000 to $335,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
